State Minister Zamir invites stronger business-to-business partnerships between the Maldives and Finland

Minister of State for Economic Development and Trade, Hussain Zamir, has invited stronger business-to-business partnerships between the Maldives and Finland, speaking at a webinar organised by the Ministry in collaboration with the Embassy of Finland and Business Finland.

Zamir said the Maldives, long recognised for world-class tourism and a sustainable tuna industry, is now diversifying under President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu into sectors such as maritime logistics, renewable energy, modern financial services, and the creative and digital economy.

He identified four priority areas for cooperation: creative and digital industries, investment opportunities, sustainable tourism, and fisheries modernisation. Finnish expertise in technology, green innovation, and sustainable business practices, he noted, complements the Maldives’ development goals.

The event aimed to showcase key sectors for potential investment and strengthen business connections between Finnish companies and Maldivian stakeholders.
