Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Mohamed Saeed, held a meeting with the Managing Director of State Trading Organization (STO) and STO’s senior officials today.

Discussions focused on the latest preparations to ensure the availability of the 23 items added to the list of basic food items available from October 15.

In fulfilment of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s pledge, the Cabinet approved the bulk import of 10 types of fruits, 10 types of vegetables, and other essential food items through STO on 10th September 2025.
