Overview
The China-Maldives FTA is the Maldives’ first bilateral free trade agreement. This agreement fulfills President Dr. Mohamed Muizz’s vision for diversification of the Maldivian economy and seeking new market opportunities for Maldivian products and businesses. This agreement strengthens the two bilateral economic cooperations for the future. This has created an example for the two countries’ mutually beneficial cooperation despite vastly different scales, marking a milestone moment in trade and economic history.
