An opportunity has been opened for Maldivian film producers and broadcasters to participate in the 26th FICCI FRAMES 2026, a major international exhibition for the media and entertainment industry to be held in Mumbai, India.

In an announcement, the Ministry of Economic Development, Transport and Trade stated that the Government of India has informed the Ministry that the Maldives has been invited to participate in the exhibition, which will be held in Mumbai from 29 to 30 September 2026. Under this opportunity, invitations have been extended to Maldivian film producers, other stakeholders in the media and entertainment industry, as well as broadcasters to take part in the event.

The primary objective of the exhibition is to bring together professionals from the media and broadcasting sectors, policymakers, and investors on a single platform to create new business opportunities. The event will also focus on expanding the global reach of industries such as cinema, television, animation, visual effects (VFX), and gaming by leveraging emerging technologies including artificial intelligence (AI), digital media, and OTT (over-the-top) platforms.

According to the Ministry, participation in the exhibition will provide an opportunity to discuss challenges facing the industry and facilitate the establishment of global partnerships with international stakeholders.
