MPL Opens Applications for Space at Addu Regional Free Zone

Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has officially opened applications for businesses interested in acquiring space at the Addu Regional Free Zone on May 22, 2026.

This project is a key initiative under the economic diversification and regional hub development policy of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s administration. The primary objective of establishing this Free Zone is to expand the trade and logistics sectors in Addu City and to foster significant economic growth across the southern atolls.

According to MPL, the Addu Regional Free Zone is designed to meet international standards, specifically catering to businesses involved in warehousing and re-exporting goods. Interested parties can now submit their expressions of interest via an online application form.

MPL has stated that the application form can be accessed through the following link: http://forms.port.mv/arfz

With the commencement of operations at the Free Zone, the Addu City port will be utilized to its full potential, providing regional traders with enhanced efficiency in importing and exporting goods. The government anticipates that this development will create numerous job opportunities in Addu City and revitalize the economy of the entire region.
