Minister Saeed Graces MPL’s 39th Anniversary Ceremony

Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Hon. Mohamed Saeed, attended the ceremony held on Friday evening to commemorate the 39th anniversary of Maldives Ports Limited (MPL).

In his address, Minister Saeed highlighted MPL’s pivotal role in the Maldives’ economy, social development, and broader national affairs. He commended the dedication and responsibility demonstrated by MPL employees and expressed confidence that, through collective effort and determination, the government’s vision for advancing port and logistics development—as outlined in the current administration’s manifesto—can be successfully achieved.

The ceremony also featured the launch of MPL’s newly introduced corporate magazine, Ulhandhu Journal. In recognition of staff contributions, special awards were presented, including the Rising Staff Award, Outstanding Achievement Award, Outstanding Leadership Award, and the Top 10 Staff Award. Additionally, appreciation plaques were conferred upon retired employees in recognition of their years of service to the company.

MPL’s CEO, D.C.P (Retired) Mohamed Rishwan, along with several former CEOs, also participated in the ceremony.
