Data collection begins for the second Time Release Study

The data collection for the second Time Release Study (TRS) has commenced.

The TRS, launched on November 18, 2025 under the World Customs Organization’s (WCO) Accelerate Trade Facilitation Programme (ATFP), is a survey conducted to measure the time spent at various stages—from the arrival of goods in the Maldives, through the completion of customs procedures, until their final release.

Accordingly, in compliance with WCO standards, the data collection for this survey—conducted in collaboration with the organization’s relevant experts—will take place from November 23 to 27, 2025.

During this period, information will be gathered from the Maldives Customs Service along with various other stakeholders, including border agencies, parties involved in import and export operations, and customs brokers.
