The Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, Mr. Solih Hussain, met with Ms. Pragya Chaturvedi, the Intellectual Property Attaché of the British Intellectual Property Office, today at the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade in Malé.

Ms. Chaturvedi emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of IP, and the Deputy Minister provided an update on the status of intellectual property (IP) protection in the Maldives, as well as ways the UK can support the government’s Creative Economy initiative.

Deputy Minister Solih requested the UK’s support to enhance the IP system, specifically seeking technical assistance to establish a collective management organization (CMO) and form an IP office in the Maldives.
